Lip balms for smoochable lips

Thursday, March 31, 2016

I have a weakness for lip balms. Am I alone in that?

Besides my phone, a good lip balm is one of those items I carry with me everywhere. Over the years, I've tried tons of different lip balms and butters - some were a total miss, others were interesting and those 13 above are my absolute favourites. So whether it's just out of habit or your lips truly need a bit of pampering, here is a bunch of organic, mostly vegan, all natural and nourishing lip balms that will make your lips irresistible for smooching:)

1. Rosehip seed lip cream - 2. Rose lip balm - 3. S.W. Basics' lip balm - 4. Everything balm - 5. Basil and cardamom lip balm - 6. Blood orange lip butter - 7. Lulu Organics lip balm - 8.  French Girl Organics lip balm - 9. Juice Beauty lip moisturizer - 10. Salve duo - 11. Clove natural lip balm - 12. Cocoa and lavender lip balm - 13. Phoenix Botanicals lip balm set.

Any favourites?

Green Juice Ice Cubes.

Fancy an energizing green juice on the go this spring? Make those spirulina ice cubes and add them to your water bottle.

Here is the how to:
In a bowl mix two teaspoons of spirulina powder with two and a half cups of organic apple juice and the juice of one lemon. Then transfer the liquid into ice cube trays and freeze. Use 3-4 ice cubes at a time with a big glass of water or your favourite organic juice. I like to mix mine with mango juice.

P.S: And a few more jazzy takes on water.
P.P.S: Plus, watermelon ice and those beauty boosting ice cubes.

Simple Kitchen: Wooden Tools

Wednesday, March 30, 2016

In her book Simple Matters, Erin wrote about her love for wooden kitchen utensils and cleaning brushes. She believes that a great wooden tool can be more beautiful and durable than their plastic counterparts. Ever since reading about her approach of filling a home with only meaningful and beautiful things, I started to really pay attention to what I bring into our space.

Recently, among other things, I exchanged a few of ours kitchen plastic utensils for wooden ones that, with a bit of care and love, will hopefully serve us for years to come.

So below are 15 wooden kitchen tools that will make any kitchen feel more special and certainly simpler in the most beautiful way.

1. rolling pin - 2. jobillo wood serving spoon - 3. baker's spoon - 4. coffee wood cooking spoon - 5. table brush set - 6. Swedish pan brush - 7. butter knife - 8. scrambled egg utensils - 9. walnut nesting bowls - 10. dish brush - 11. flour spoon - 12. set of cheese boards - 13. flat saute tool - 14. 'hang around' cooking set - 15. apple and pear pinch bowl set.

Any favourites?

Spring Style: Short Sleeved Button-Down Shirt

Do you own any short sleeved shirts?

I pretty much live in my button-downs, but this morning I realized that I don’t have a single one that doesn’t require excessive sleeve rolling. Yup, it came to me while having coffee with a friend who wore a very classic white shirt with very short sleeves that looked incredibly tomboyish and fresh, so much so, that I actually asked her where she got hers and immediately afterwards went and got one myself.

Now I’m smitten and can’t wait to add more of those to my spring and summer wardrobe. They will look great with skirts, shorts or even jeans. Yay!

P.S: Say it with a t-shirt :)
P.P.S: Plaid with plaid (and more plaid).

For a Glowing Skin

Dearies, how was your Easter weekend? Mine was mostly busy, so last night after an eventful couple of days, I treated myself to a long bath, a glass of wine and a Greek yogurt face mask recommended by Stephanie. It has this amazing power to soothe dry skin and restore its natural glow. It totally worked as this morning I noticed that my skin feels soft like baby's bottom :)

Here is the very easy how-to if you fancy treating your skin to something lovely today.

P.S: Great to be back to regular schedule. Two more posts are coming up today!

Easter Flowers

Thursday, March 24, 2016

With Easter just a few short days away, I finally started to make lists of everything we need - better late than never, right? Anyway, a bouquet if mixed wildflowers is on the top of my list. To me, there is nothing more Easter-y than a bunch of wild meadow blooms standing in a jar on a dinner table surrounded by messy dishes, egg shells, cheery chatter and wine stained linen tablecloth. Bring it on, I say:)

Do tell, what are your plans for Easter?

P.S: Remember this Easter egg tree in Germany?

Cold Shoulder Trend: Thumbs Up or Down?

How do you feel about cut-out-shoulder dresses or tops? Do you wear them? According to Sarah Rutson, women of all ages should have at least one cold-shoulder item in their closet. Supposedly this trend is extremely flattering for all ages, since shoulders are one of the most beautiful parts of the human body - so why not show them off more, right?

The one thing I know is that a few of my friends always look incredibly sassy wearing the peek-a-boo shoulder top. Maybe I should also give it a go this spring. How about you?

P.S: Also, the 'it' spring handbag and stripes :)
